Carbon Footprint
Construction Job SiteEmployer LiabilityFall ProtectionMotor Vehicle AccidentPandemic PolicyAnswers:Carbon Footprint:I understand that small and medium sized businesses will have to reduce their carbon footprint in the near future and want to know if we have any info on how to measure that? Construction Job Site:Who has the responsibility on a job site if 2 workers are performing a job, does one have to be appointed by the employer as "in charge" and if not, can a supervisor be in charge even though he is off site, or must have someone physically there? Employer Liability:Is our employer liable if something happens to us on the way from our house to a work related training session for the day? Fall Protection:I have heard of the recent tragic accident in Toronto, where 4 workers fell to their deaths. We are a small manufacturer, and we think we're doing everything that's legally required, in terms of fall protection. However, to be sure, can you summarize what the requirements are and where exactly they're found in the OHSA/Regulations? Motor Vehicle Accident:We had a driver who was in a motor vehicle accident 2 months ago. He was injured, and the functional abilities form now states he can return to driving, with restriction. Now, he is saying that he is afraid to drive any vehicle, and wants to see a psychologist. WSIB tells us that it might take 6 - 8 weeksfor the initial consultation, and that it could drag on for years. His modified non-driving work is a hindrance to the other workers, as they think he's milking it? Pandemic Policy:Do you know if it is mandatory for companies to have a Pandemic Policy or if it will be mandatory in the next year? |
